Assistant Finance Manager ( General Accounting ) At Commify

We are currently seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Finance Manager in driving financial excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical accounting skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively.
General Accounting:
- Support the France Finance Manager with general accounting tasks such as the posting and review of accruals and prepayments
- Help the France Finance Manager to regularly reconcile the nominal ledger and so ensure that the French business has an appropriate and properly functioning financial control environment
- Take responsibility for the booking of specific invoices, including intercompany, Esendex partner commission bills, payroll deductions, and others
- Review & update asset registers with our external accountant
Period and Year-end:
- Support the France Finance Manager with monthly reporting
- Assist the France Finance Manager with the year-end accounts and audit
- Support the France Finance Manager to prepare & finalise the monthly results (which consists of a P&L, Balance Sheet), along with supporting commentary
Also:
- Prepare the first draft of the monthly tax submissions (VAT & DES)
- Prepare bi-weekly Aged debtors reports and review main overdue amounts with AR and Sales teams
- Prepare and submit the bi-weekly Cash Forecast
- Prepare the quarterly statements for sales partners
- Respond to sales team requests and queries in relation to customers
- Provide the information required to the Payroll advisor (with the help of HR team)
- Complete other administration and finance tasks as required
The Person:
The relevant candidate should have experience in general accounting, speak and write French fluently and have a good command of English, be a quick learner and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Academic background in business administration or finance
- Previous experience of working in an accounting position
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
Strong Excel skills
- Experience of working with an ERP package (NetSuite desirable but not essential)
- Flexibility to work as required at busy times such as month-end
- Native French speaker with strong English language skill
